Catalina Quintana (coordinator)

Researcher and professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Escuela de Ciencias Biológicas, Laboratorio de Ecosistemas Secos, Quito-Ecuador. This lab is focused on the study of diversity patterns, geographic barriers and conservation of plants from dry forests. We work in permanent plots at the southern Pacific Coast of Ecuador. Students are involved with investigations regarding diversity and conservation of the dry inter-Andean valleys.

Danilo Minga Ochoa

Teacher and researcher of Universidad del Azuay, Biology Career, Azuay Herbarium.

At the herbarium we study the floristic composition and biodiversity of southern Ecuador, especially in Azuay, Cañar and Morona Santiago provinces; at the moment we study the distribution of dry shrubs plants at different altitudinal gradients in the provinces of Azuay and Loja. Thesis students work at the herbarium and volunteer activities and internships are offered.
